Free-scoring Man City ready to pile more pressure on struggling Wolves

Manchester City will bid to extend their winning start to the Premier League season when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday.
Having taken maximum points from their opening six games, Man City find themselves two points clear of Liverpool at the summit of the table.
At the opposite end of the standings, Wolves occupy 16th place. Not only do they trail City by 14 points, but they also sit just three points outside the relegation zone.
It is worth noting, however, that Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the season in midweek, losing 1-0 to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup.
Despite racking up 68% possession and 10 shots at St. James’ Park, Pep Guardiola’s men failed to find a way through Newcastle’s stubborn defence.
Still, Man City have won all six of their Premier League matches this term, conceding just three goals while scoring 16 goals in reply.
When you look at the bigger picture, Guardiola’s side have only two of their previous 38 games across all competitions, underlining their dominance.
As for the hosts, they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Ipswich Town in midweek, suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Championship side.
Gary O’Neil’s men raced into a two-goal lead inside 15 minutes at Portman Road, but Ipswich responded with three goals to dump the Wanderers out of the cup.
In the Premier League, Wolves have managed to win just one of their six matches this season, recording one draw and four losses along the way.
To make matters worse, only the bottom two clubs – Sheffield United and Burnley – have conceded more goals than Wolves’ 12 this term.
Head-to-head: Man City claimed a couple of 3-0 victories over Wolves last season, extending their winning streak to six matches in this fixture.
It is also worth pointing out that Wolves have only managed to win two of their previous 15 meetings with Man City across all competitions.
Team news: Wolves midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is suspended after picking up a red card last time out, while Man City loanee Tommy Doyle is unable to face his parent club.
On the flip side, Rodri is suspended following last weekend’s sending off, while Kevin De Bruyne remains sidelined due to injury.
When you couple the contrasting form of these two sides with Wolves’ poor recent record against Man City, all the signs point towards an away win on Saturday.
