Luton searching for maiden Premier League victory at expense of Wolves
Luton Town vs Wolverhampton - 23/09/2023

Rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, winless Luton Town welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
Luton are the only Premier League team without a single point to their name this season, having suffered four successive defeats since gaining promotion.
That said, Wolves have also struggled during the early stages of the campaign, losing four of their five matches to remain only three points above the Hatters.
Luton suffered a 1-0 defeat to Fulham last weekend, managing just two attempts on target while seeing 22% possession at Craven Cottage.
Following losses against Brighton & Hove Albion (4-1), Chelsea (3-0) and West Ham United (2-1), the Hatters find themselves rock bottom of the table.
To make matters worse for Rob Edwards’ side, no team has scored fewer Premier League goals than Luton’s two this season.
On top of that, only two sides – Burnley (12) and Wolves (11) – have conceded more goals than Luton’s 10, although one of those teams is Saturday’s opponent.
Meanwhile, Wolves suffered a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool last time out, registering 34% possession and two attempts on target while facing 16 shots.
As a result, the Wanderers have now lost four of their five Premier League matches this season, posting the second-worst defensive record in the process.
After losing to Manchester United (1-0) and Brighton (4-1), Wolves beat Everton 1-0 before enduring a 3-2 defeat against Crystal Palace.
When you look at the bigger picture, Wolves have managed to win just three of their previous 24 away games across all competitions, highlighting their struggles on the road.
Head-to-head: Luton and Wolves last faced each other in the FA Cup back in 2013, with the Hatters claiming a 1-0 victory on that occasion.
That said, Wolves have only lost one of their previous five competitive meetings with Luton, picking up three wins in this fixture between 2006 and 2007.
Team news: Luton are currently without injured trio Gabriel Osho, Jordan Clark and Dan Potts, while Ross Barkley is a doubt for Saturday.
Wolves also have a couple of injury doubts, with Joseph Hodge and Rayan Ait Nouri expected to miss the trip to Kenilworth Road.
Regardless of their recent struggles, Saturday’s showdown provides Luton with the ideal opportunity to pick up their first Premier League win against another struggling side.
Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Kenilworth Road, with Luton outscoring Wolves by a one-goal margin to claim all three points.
