The last time Fulham and Luton Town faced off; the teams were playing in the EFL Championship in 2021-22. Fulham won that fixture by a score of 7-0 at Craven Cottage.

Now, two seasons later, Fulham are aiming to defeat Luton Town once more at Crave Cottage, only this time, in the Premier League.

Fulham did not start the season well. The international break came at the right time for the Cottagers.

Marco Silva’s team failed to win their last three matches in the league. They will limp into Saturday’s home match with Luton.

Luton have not enjoyed life in the Premier League. The Hatters’ hopes of a great start to the campaign did not materialise.

The team lost all three of their Premier League games to open the season. Luton have a game in hand due to having a match postponed.

Still, Luton Town looked out of their element to begin the season. They scored just two goals and conceded nine times. Two of their three matches saw both teams score and over 2.5 goals.

Fulham started the season with a 1-0 win away to Everton. Since then, the Cottagers have struggled.

They lost 3-0 to Fulham, drew 2-2 with Arsenal, and lost 5-1 to Man City. Based on the teams’ results this season, Saturday’s game could see more than 2.5 goals.

Three of the last four matches between Fulham and Luton ended with over 2.5 goals. Three of those four games had both teams score.

Silva has four players on the injured list going into round No. 5. Alex Iwobi will miss the game, with a thigh injury. Sasa Lukic is out with a knee injury.

Midfielder Tom Cairney is unlikely to make the squad due to a knee problem. Joao Palhinha could make the squad following a fitness issue.

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards could be without up to five players for the trip to Craven Cottage. Dan Potts and Jordan Clark are both ruled out through injury.

Gabriel Osho has a knee injury and is unlikely to play. Thomas Lockyer is a doubt with a quad strain. Alfie Doughty has an Achilles tendon injury. He could still make the squad for Saturday’s match.

Fulham scored just four goals going into round No. 5. All four goals were scored by four different players.

Could they break out with goals this weekend? Fulham should get goals against Luton once more and win 2-1.
