Manchester City to win fourth straight PL game to start the season

Manchester City won their last six matches against Fulham in all competitions. On Saturday, the Cityzens will welcome the Cottagers to the Etihad Stadium, seeking a seventh straight win against them.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are the only Premier League team with a 100% winning record. City defeated Burnley 3-0, Newcastle 1-0, and Sheffield United 2-1. An argument can be made that Man City haven’t played strong competition, with two newly-promoted teams on the fixture list.

Fulham picked up a surprise point at the Emirates on Saturday, with a 2-2 come-from-behind draw. Marco Silva’s side had a modest start to the campaign, taking four points from nine.

The club sold striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al Hilal. Silva is in a transition stage with the club following the sale of the striker.

Fulham have signed Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore, hoping the duo can rekindle the magic they showed at Wolverhampton a few seasons ago.

Manchester City are rolling once more thanks to the goals of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has three goals, which is 50% of City’s goalscoring total. Haaland leads the league in shots per game, with 5.3. The striker played against Fulham twice before, scoring two goals in those two appearances.

Kevin De Bruyne continues to rehab a hamstring injury. He is expected to miss up to five months of games.

Guardiola’s team dominates possession and leads the league with 64.7% possession per match. The team also averages 20.3 shots per game, the second most after three matchdays.

Fulham are top of the Premier League with eight yellow cards and two red cards. The team’s discipline has been poor thus far. Centre-back Calvin Bassey, signed from Ajax in the summer, will miss the game due to being sent off against Arsenal in round No. 3.

Guardiola missed last week’s match at Sheffield United due to having a back operation. He could be back in the dugout for this week. John Stones will miss the match due to a thigh injury. Meanwhile, defender Manuel Akanji could miss the game due to a stomach illness.

City are set to complete a transfer for Wolves’ midfielder Matheus Nunes. The club is also finishing the sale of winger Cole Palmer to Chelsea.

Fulham’s Willian is unlikely to play due to an injury. The previously mentioned Bassey is banned following his sending off last weekend.

Fulham could give Man City a fight just like they did against Arsenal last week. However, the Cityzens should pick up a win with a final score of 2-1.

The last three games between these clubs in all competitions had over 2.5 goals and both teams scored.
