Getafe's Inabilty to Score to Continue With a Draw Expected Against Alavés
Getafe CF vs Deportivo Alavés - 28/08/2023
3271
Deportivo Alavés head to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez this Monday evening to meet with a Getafe side aiming for their first win of the season after failing to score a goal in the opening first two games.
After two winless games in La Liga early on, Getafe are the only side in the the top flight of Spanish football yet to score a goal.
They have also conceded three times and come into this one having at least taken a point off the champions, Barcelona.
The club played out a 0-0 draw in that game, and despite seeing only 25% of the ball and having two shots on target from a total of five efforts, they largely restricted Barcelona to very few efforts of their own and managed to take a well-earned point off the champions.
However, after a solid defensive display, Getafe followed this up with a 3-0 battering away to Girona after conceding a goal just minutes into the first half.
A brace from Cristhian Stuani forced a 3-0 loss, as Getafe conceded six shots on target and once again had just two of their own.
That's just four shots on target for Getafe after two games this season and they have so far only added fuel to the fire of worries for their fans in terms of a scrap in the relegation zone.
Last season, they were the third lowest scorers with just 34 goals scored from 38 games and only 10 wins - a similar season looks to be on the cards.
As for Alaves, it's been a topsy-turvy start to the season for them as they suffered a 1-0 loss away to Cadiz on the opening weekend before a sensational win over Sevilla back at home in what was their first match at the Mendizorrotza Stadium in La Liga for a season after a year in the Segunda Division.
The Segunda Division playoff winners had 14 shots that day against Sevilla with seven of them hitting the target, as Kike garcia stole the show with a brace in the second half where both goals came withing five minutes of one another.
Ruben Duarte also scored that day, as Luis Roja netted a finish in the first half. In fact, Alaves only trailed the game and once after two first half goals from Sevilla.
Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
