Everton and Fulham kick off their 2023/24 Premier League campaign with a meeting at Goodison Park on Saturday with the Toffees set to play hosts to the Cottagers with hopes of moving on from another dreadful campaign last time out.

The Merseyside outfit have been on a downward spiral in the past few seasons and fought relegation for the last two campaigns.

Everton narrowly missed out on the drop once again in 2022/23 by finishing above Leicester City in 18th by only two points.

Everton will be looking to establish a sense of stability under Sean Dyce in 2023-24. Read more: Everton – Premier League Preview (2023-24)

This saw the club win just eight games and lose 19, scoring just 34 times throughout the season too - no side outside of the bottom three won fewer games and scored fewer goals than them.

However, during preseason Sean Dyche has seemingly got the Toffees ticking.

His men kicked off the summer games with a win over Stade Nyonnais, as they also went on to defeat Wigan Athletic and Stoke City.

Everton would register draws with Bolton Wanderers and Monza and conclude the preseason games with a win at Goodison Park over Sporting Lisbon.

On the transfer front, however, Everton took a hit. The club would lose Yerry Mina to Fiorentina and also let go of Lewis Gibson, Andros Townsend and Tom Davies.

Ellis Simms also joined Coventry City after a fantastic season in the Championship with Sunderland and Moise Kean has also rejoined Juventus, while Ishé Samuels-Smith left for Chelsea.

As for Fulham, they have seemingly kept hold of the services of Aleksandar Mitrović after his 14 goals in 24 Premier League goals last time out.

However, reports suggest he could still leave the club, but the Cottagers have prepared in advance by signing Raul Jimenez from Wolverhamtpon Wanderers.

Calvin Bassey also joins from Ajax to bulk up the defensive slots, with Chris Donnell also coming into the midfield from Perth Glory.

Fulham would win two and lose two during preseason, as they managed to defeat Brentford three weeks ago before a loss to Aston Villa and Chelsea in the United States.

Back at Craven Cottage in the final game of the summer before the Premier League kicked off, Marco Silva's men edged out a win over Hoffenheim.

Everton would win six of their eight games at Goodison Park last season, securing just two victories on the road. Forebet predicts them to get off to a winning start at home and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
