It’s the first leg of the Champions League first qualifying round between Shamrock Rovers and Breidablik Kópavogur with the League of Ireland Premier Division giants playing hosts to the side from Iceland this Tuesday night.
Once again, Shamrock Rovers are sitting top of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The club have won 13 of their 25 games now and are sitting above St Patrick's Athletic by four points in the league table.
They have, however, failed to win their past two games since a 1-0 win over Derry City that saw Rory Gaffney score the game's only goal.
Shamrock lost to Dundalk soon after away from home in a match that saw them have just three shots on target.
Drogheda United played hosts to them last Friday, as Shamrock drew 0-0 in a fairly lacklustre encounter.Nevertheless, they have only suffered four defeats this season.
And their only other losses in 2023 before this was a 2-1 defeat to Bray in the Leinster Senior Cup quarter-finals and a 2-0 loss to Derry City in the President's Cup final.
As for Breidablik Kópavogur, they are sitting third in the Besta delid with eight wins so far in the league. They are adrift of top spot by 11 points and are behind Valur in second by two points.
The club are the third highest scorers in Iceland's top division too, as they scored 30 times from 14 games, although they have also conceded 21.
In their quest for Europe so far, the club have made very easy work of things.
They managed to smash Tre Penne 7-1 back in late June before a 5-0 battering over Buducnost Podgorica.
It means an impressive 12 goals scored and just one let in from their two qualifying games for Champions League football and they will be confident in getting a few against Shamrock Rovers, given their topsy-turvy form right now.
In fact, Breidablik even scored five in a league win over Fylkir last weekend, as Damir Muminovic, Gisli Eyjolfsson, Arnor Sveinn Aoalsteinsonn, Anton Logi Luoviksson and Jason Svanborsson all scored a goal each.
Prior to this, Breidablik drew 3-3 in the Icelandic Men's Football Cup semi final with KA after a chaotic game that saw three goals in the final 10 minutes of the game. The club eventually lost on penalties that day.
Forebet predicts a win for Shamrock in this one and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
