3781

Red Bull Bragantino will meet Sao Paulo for the second time this season in all competitions. The clubs met in the Paulista tournament earlier this season, with Bragantino posting a 2-1 win.

Now, the energy-drink fuelled club are aiming for a second straight victory over Sao Paulo.

The Red Bulls are fifth in the standings and 10 points off first-placed Botafogo. A win over Sao Paulo could send Bragantino into Serie A’s top four.

However, a defeat could see Bragantino fall as low as ninth depending on results elsewhere.

Sao Paulo are one of the clubs that could leapfrog Bragantino with a win on Sunday. The Tricolour are seventh ahead of round No 14.

They took 21 points from the opening 13 fixtures. Consistency has been difficult for Sao Paulo to locate this term.

The Tricolour took nine points from their last six games, winning three times and losing three matches. They were outscored 7-6 across the last six fixtures. Sao Paulo are coming off a 1-0 win over Fluminense in their last match.

Sao Paulo have been wretched this season on the road. They failed to win any of their six matches away from home, posting a record of 0W-3D-3L, and a goal difference of –3.

Just four goals were scored by Sao Paulo in their six away matches.

Red Bull Bragantino are in fine form ahead of round No 14. They picked up 13 points from the last six games and are on a three-game winning streak.

The Bragantino defence is playing well. It conceded just three times across the last six games. The offence scored 11 goals.

Home-field advantage has played a big role in recent head-to-head games between the clubs. The home team is unbeaten in the last five head-to-head games between Bragantino and Sao Paulo.

Bragantino went unbeaten in their last four home matches against Sao Paulo, with three wins and a draw.

Bragantino centre-backs Leo Ortiz and Lucas Cunha are doubts due to injuries. Left-back Luan Candido is a doubt with a leg injury. Midfielder Raul is out with a ruptured knee ligament.

Winger Helinho may miss the game with a knee issue. Fellow winger Ignacio Laquintana is recovering from an ankle injury.

Sao Paulo goalkeeper Jandrei may miss the match due to a hand problem. Defenders Lucas Beraldo, Igor Vinicius, and Joao Moreira are all recovering from injuries and may miss the match.

Alexander Pato could all miss out. In total, manager Dorvial Junior has 10 players in the treatment room.

Bragantino should post a 2-1 win and remain unbeaten at home against Sao Paulo in recent games. The Red Bulls should move into the top four with the victory.
