HamKam to Win a Vital Relegation Battle Against Aalesunds

15th take on 16th in the Eliteserien this Friday night with Aalesunds FK set to head to the Briskeby Arena to meet with Hamarkameratene ahead of a quarter-final battle in the Norwegian Cup with Bodo/Glimt.
HamKam's run to the quarter-finals of the Norwegian Cup has salvaged what has otherwise been a terrible season so far.
They managed to defeat Gjovik-Lyn 5-0 in the last outing in the Norwegian Cup after a brace from Rasmus Wiedesheim-Paul and a finish each from Brynjar Ingi Bjarnason, Oliver Kjaergaard and Jonas Enkerud.
In the last league outing, however, HamKam were beaten by Brann 2-1 in a game that saw Pal Alexander Kirkevold score in the 93rd minute of the game.
This has extended HamKam's winless run in the league to nine games in what is one of the worst runs right now in the Eliteserien ever since they defeated Stromsgodset.
Since then, the club have lost 7-3 with Viking and 4-0 with Molde soon after while also losing to Tromso, Rosenborg, Valerenga, Bodo/Glimt and Odd, alongside draws with Lillestrom.
As has been the case, however, they continued to smash through Norwegian Cup opposition with an 8-0 battering over Mjolner.
The club then went on to beat Baerum 3-1 in the fourth round with a goal each from Pal Alexander Kirkevold, Jonas Enkerud and Jens Martin Gammelby.
As for Aalesund, the club are back in the win column after a 1-0 win against Rosenborg that saw Markus Karlsbakk score in the second half.
Prior to this, the club were beaten by Tromso in June and also defeated by Brann in the third round of the Norwegian Cup.
Aalesund were also defeated by Brann in the league, although they did defeat Byasen, winning 6-1 in the Norwegian Cup.
In the league, both sides remain in the relegation zone as a result and HamKam are down in last place with just seven points and are behind Aalesund on goals difference after letting in 29 goals and 11 goals scored.
Both sides have lost two wins, drawn once and lost nine times in the Eliteserien.
Both clubs now have a gap of three points on Valerenga in 13th as they aim to get out of the relegation zone and this game is no doubt the biggest of the season for HamKam and Aalesund.
