Forge to Remain in 2nd With a Win Over Wanderers

Second takes on sixth in the Canadian Premier League this weekend with Forge and Wanderers set to battle for another time this season with the second-placed side aiming to move nine points clear of their opposition.
Forge are currently in second and nine points above Wanderers in the table. It comes off the back of them winning five times and losing just four of their 13 games, alongside 15 goals scored and 16 let in.
This does, however, keep the club five points behind Pacific in the Canadian Premier League with them also just two above York United in third. In fact, a loss here could blow the race for the top four spots wide open.
Last time out, Forge defeated Atletico 4-2 at home after going 1-0 down just seconds into the game. Terran Campbell's brace gave them a 3-1 lead in the first half before Woobens Pacius won it for the club towards the end of the game.
This did end a run of three losing games in a row for Forge and alongside a draw with Cavalry and a loss at home to York United before that, the club was on a five-game winless run before their 4-3 victory.
Forge lost to Vancouver FC, Valour and Pacific in the past few games, all by failing to score a single goal.
As for Wanderers, they are just three points above last place in the table with them also having a game in hand to play over eighth-placed Vancouver. The club also head into this match with just two wins all season long, which is the same as Vancouver.
These victories saw them defeat Valour and Cavalry in recent weeks, as the club saw Callum Watson bag a brace in the 2-0 win over Valour before Tiago Coimbra, Aidan Daniels and Theo Collomb all scored a goal each.
Last time out, the club drew 2-2 with York United, as Coimbra and Daniels scored once more. That draw, however, was the seventh draw of the season and also means that they have drawn more games than any other team and also lost just twice this campaign - only the league leaders have lost fewer.
These two met back in April, as Forge saw Pacius equalise in the final few minutes of the game after Massimo Ferrin scored for Wanderers early on.
