Sligo Rovers and Bohemians will aim to halt their respective winless runs when they meet at the Showgrounds in the League of Ireland Premier Division on Friday night.

Having failed to win any of their last four matches, Sligo Rovers find themselves third from bottom in the table – two points clear of Cork City.

On the flip side, Bohemians occupy fifth place – eight points above Sligo Rovers – after failing to win any of their previous three games.

Sligo Rovers head into Friday’s clash on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat against bottom club UCD, meaning they have lost three of their last four games.

Worse still, John Russell’s men have managed to win just one of their previous eight matches, suffering six defeats along the way.

It is also worth noting that Rovers have struggled for consistency at the Showgrounds this season, winning only three of their 10 home league games.

Having won only six of their 21 League of Ireland Premier Division clashes this term, Sligo Rovers will be eager to turn things around between now and the end of the season.

As for Bohemians, they played out a 2-2 draw with Shamrock Rovers last time out, meaning they have taken two points from a possible nine since their last victory.

Just like Sligo Rovers, Bohemians have managed to win just one of their previous eight league outings, recording four draws and three losses in the process.

After winning five of their opening six away league games this season, Bohs have failed to win any of their previous five away league outings.

Having taken three away points from a possible 15 since their last victory on the road, Bohemians will struggle to taste victory on Friday.

Head-to-head: Bohemians have won each of their last three League of Ireland Premier Division meetings with Sligo Rovers, keeping two clean sheets for good measure.

On top of that, Bohs have lost only one of their previous eight league meetings with Rovers, picking up six wins along the way.

Team news: Sligo Rovers’ lengthy injury list contains Garry Buckley, Mark Byrne, Gary Boylan, Conor Walsh, Karl O’Sullivan and James Finnerty.

By contrast, Bohemians have reported no injury problems ahead of Friday’s clash, giving Declan Devine plenty of options to choose from.

With both sides in iffy form and eager to avoid defeat, Sligo Rovers and Bohemians look destined to serve up a close-fought battle.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Sligo Rovers and Bohemians will play out a goalless draw at the Showgrounds on Friday.
