Aucas to achieve shock Copa Libertadores triumph over Flamengo

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Brazilian giants Flamengo host Ecuadorian side Aucas in the final round of Copa Libertadores group games.
Flamengo occupy second place in Group A – two points shy of first-placed Racing Club and three points clear of third-placed Nublense.
Aucas, meanwhile, find themselves rock bottom of the standings – one point shy of Nublense and four points behind Flamego.
Flamengo head into Matchday 6 on the back of a 3-2 league victory over Santos, meaning they have won five of their last six matches in all competitions.
Better still, Flamengo have lost just one of their previous 12 games, securing eights wins and three draws along the way.
In the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo have recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat so far, losing their opening game before taking eight points from a possible 12.
Having avoided defeat in 17 of their previous 18 Copa Libertadores clashes – winning each of their last nine on home soil – Flamengo will be confident of sealing the deal.
On the flip side, Aucas have won just one of their five Copa Libertadores matches this year, recording one draw and three losses in the process.
Funnily enough, their sole victory came against Flamengo on Matchday 1, with three successive defeats coming before a goalless draw on Matchday 5.
It is worth noting that Aucas ended a six-game winless run last time out, claiming a 2-0 victory over Orense in the Ecuadorian Serie A.
When you look at the bigger picture, Aucas have managed to win just two of their previous 10 matches across all competitions, recording two draws and six losses in that time.
Head-to-head: As we know, Aucas defeated Flamengo back in April, as the Ecuadorian outfit sealed a 2-1 home victory over the Brazilian giants.
Team news: Flamengo look set to be without the injured duo of Matheus Franca and Matheuzinho for the visit of Aucas.
Meanwhile, Aucas will be without the suspended Edison Caicedo after he picked up a red card during the goalless draw with Nublense on Matchday 5.
Although Flamengo are on the verge of securing a top-two berth in Group A, it is important to remember that Aucas stunned the Brazilians on Matchday 1.
