Belgrano Córdoba vs CA Banfield - 27/06/2023
2698
Belgrano and Banfield are set to clash at the Estadio Julio César Villagra this Monday night with the two sides in completely contrasting areas of the Argentine Primera Division ahead of matchday 21.
Ahead of this Monday night clash, Belgrano are sitting up in eighth and eyeing up a spot in the top four towards the end of this first phase of the season.
The club come into this game with nine wins so far from 20 games and they have also lost seven times and drawn the other four.
What all but sums up their season so far is how the club have conceded 17 goals and scored 17 of their own too.
Last time out, Belgrano lost 2-0 to Defensa y Justicia after defeating Velez Sarsfield 2-0 where Pablo Vegetti scored after two minutes alongside a finish from Guillermo Fabian Pereira.
They did, however, lose to Platense before that game and were also defeated by Boca Juniors five weeks ago.
This means they've only defeated Sarsfield in the past month after also drawing with Talleres Cordoba 1-1 after a goal from Vegetti once more, as Alejandro Rebola also received his marching orders that day in the 90th minute.
As for Banfield, they are just one place and one point above last place in the Argentine Primera Division after winning only four games from the 20 outings.
What's more, the club have also scored just 13 goals this season and no side in the top tier of Argentina have scored fewer. In fact, with 26 goals conceded too, only Arsenal Sarandi and Gimnasia have let in more goals.
Banfield also have a game against Estudiantes de Rio Cuarto to come up this week in the Copa Argentina round of 32 after beating Argentino de Merlo in the first round 3-0.
Back in the league, the club have lost to River Plate 4-1 and Racing Club 2-0 in their recent matches and this means just one win in the past month and the last five games for Banfield.
This victory came in a 2-0 win against Rosario Central thanks to a brace from Milton Gimenez.
Banfield have also lost to San Lorenzo at home and fell to a defeat on the road against Estundiantes in recent weeks.
Forebet predicts a win for Belgrano and for the game to see under 2.5 goals with yet another defeat expected for Banfield.
