France will be looking to maintain their 100% record in Euro 2024 qualifying when they welcome Greece to the Stade de France on Monday evening.
Having won all three of their qualifiers so far, Group B leaders Les Bleus find themselves three points clear of second-placed Greece, who have claimed two wins from two.
With the Netherlands, Ireland and Gibraltar also competing in Group B, the race for next summer’s tournament in Germany is heating up.
France head into Monday’s clash on the back of a 3-0 victory over Gibraltar, as the World Cup finalists racked up 82% possession and 31 shots on Friday.
After thrashing the Netherlands 4-0 in their opening qualifier, Didier Deschamps’ side defeat Ireland 1-0 to maintain their perfect start to the campaign.
That means they have scored eight goals across their first three qualifiers, keeping three clean sheets for good measure.
When you look at the bigger picture, France have lost just one of their previous 10 matches in normal time, securing eight wins along the way.
As for Greece, they kicked off their qualifying campaign with a 3-0 victory over Gibraltar before defeating Ireland 2-1 on Friday.
Anastasios Bakasetas gave the Greeks the lead from the penalty spot last time out, with Giorgos Masouras scoring the winning goal shortly after half-time.
Greece have now lost just one of their previous six games across all competitions, notching three wins and two draws in the process.
Having suffered only two defeats in their last 11 outings – picking up seven victories for their troubles – Greece will fancy their chances of frustrating France.
Head-to-head: Greece have managed to win just one of their previous 14 meetings with France, suffering 10 defeats along the way.
In terms of the bigger picture, France have won 13 of their 19 previous meetings with Greece, while the Greeks have claimed only two victories in this fixture since 1950.
Team news: Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud are expected to start in attack for France, with Real Madrid duo Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni operating in midfield.
Greece will feature Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas at left-back and Sheffield United’s George Baldock at right-back, while AZ Alkmaar striker Vangelis Pavlidis will lead the line.
Despite the fact that Greece have started their qualifying campaign in solid fashion, France should be too strong for the visitors on Monday.
Forebet predicts that France will extend their winning streak with a low-scoring victory over Greece, while the hosts are expected to keep a clean sheet.
