Senegal to Win Again as Benin Fall to Another Defeat in the AFCON Qualifiers
1778

Benin and Senegal are set to battle on matchday five of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with both sides sat in completely contrasting areas of the Group L table with the home side in this one sitting bottom.

Benin are yet to win a game in this qualifying campaign and their two points collected have come in recent draws with Rwanda in March.

Jodel Dossou scored in the away trip to Rwanda after Steve Mounie scored a late equaliser at home as both games ended 1-1.

Elsewhere Benin have lost to Mozambique on home soil and were also defeated by Senegal in the return fixture between these two.

Sadio Mane stole the show that day with a hat-trick that involved two penalties, as Junior Olaitan scored late on for Benin to pull one back. Sessi D'Almeida was also sent off that day for his country.

As for Senegal, the defending Africa Cup of Nations champions have won four games and not dropped a single point so far.

In fact, they've let in just two goals all campaign long in Group L and secured 10 goals too.

Mane and co. beat Mozambique 1-0 in their last outing after a goal from Boulaye Dia, as they also thrashed them in the return fixture 5-1 following on from goals by Youssouf Sabaly, Iliman Ndiaye, Mane, Dia and Habib Diallo.

Ismaïla Sarr has not been called up to this squad and will be missed in the attack.

Senegal will also be without Cheikhou Kouyaté for this set of fixtures and his presence in midfield will be felt.

The country will also see the likes of Bouna Sarr, Abdou Diallo and Fode Ballo-Toure all miss out, while Chelsea' Edouard Mendy misses out too.

Famara Diédhiou is another notable name absent in attack, so all attention falls on the shoulders of Sadio Mane, Boulaye Dia and Habib Diallo.

Former Sunderland and Paris Saint-Germain player, Stéphane Sessègnon, is the main man for Benin and he will lead his country out for the 88th time.

Everton youngster, Halid Djankpata, and Steve Mounie of Brest are two notable names who could also start this game.

Forebet predicts another win for Senegal and for the game to see under 2.5 goals with Benin failing to make a mark on this Group L campaign for the Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
