Scotland will be looking to maintain their 100% record in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying when they face Norway at Ullevaal Stadion on Saturday.
With two games in the books, Scotland find themselves at the summit of Group A – three points clear of second-placed Spain.
At the opposite end of the standings, Norway find themselves second from bottom – one point above last-placed Cyprus and five points shy of Scotland.
The Norwegians’ qualifying campaign began with a 3-0 defeat in Spain, as the visitors saw just 36% possession while facing a barrage of 13 shots.
Three days later, Norway played out a 1-1 draw with Georgia, despite racking up 66% possession and 17 shots in Batumi.
Norway head into Saturday’s clash on a run of one victory in six matches across all competitions, with two draws and three losses coming in that time.
That said, the Norwegians have lost only four of their previous 24 games on home soil, so they will be hopeful of picking up a positive result on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Scotland kicked off their qualifying campaign with a 3-0 victory over Cyprus, thanks largely to a late brace from Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
Despite seeing just 25% possession, Steve Clarke’s side then secured a famous 2-0 win against Spain, with McTominay netting another double.
As a result, Scotland are unbeaten in seven qualifying matches and have lost only one of their previous six away outings in all competitions.
Having lost two of their last nine games – picking up six wins for good measures – the Scots will fancy their chances of getting something from Saturday’s showdown.
Head-to-head: Norway and Scotland last met back in 2013, with the Scots claiming a 1-0 friendly victory on that occasion.
When you look at the bigger picture, the Norwegians have only managed to win three of their 18 meetings with Scotland over the years.
Team news: Norway’s squad is packed with big-name players, including Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard and Real Sociedad forward Alexander Sorloth.
On the flip side, Scotland can call upon the likes of Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson, Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney, Aston Villa’s John McGinn and Man Utd’s Scott McTominay.
Scotland will be confident of extending their unbeaten run, but they may have to settle for a point against an up-and-coming Norway side.
Forebet predicts that Norway and Scotland will serve up a low-scoring draw in Oslo, with both teams netting under 1.5 goals.
