Palmeiras to Secure a Spot in the Knockout Rounds by Beating Barcelona

It's matchday five of the Copa Libertadores this Wednesday with Palmeiras set to welcome Barcelona to the Allianz Parque after topsy-turvy runs of form from the two teams across their respective leagues.
Palmeiras are heading into this one off the back of winning just one of their past three games. The club managed to defeat Coritiba last time out after a goal from Victor Guimaraes and a double from Rony. They also witnessed 23 shots in that game with eight of them hitting the target.

Their only loss in the Libertadores came against Bolivar in a 3-1 defeat away from home. Jalison was sent off in that game after Jose Manuel Lopez scored in the first half.
Palmeiras did beat Barcelona in the last game those two met in, as Raphael Veiga scored a penalty just moments before the end of the first half.
Gustavo Gomez also bagged a goal that day for the Serie A side, as Palmeiras had 14 shots towards goal just as Barcelona had 19 efforts in total.
Abel Ferreira's are also sitting second in the Serie A after nine games with the club coming into this one with five victories so far and nine draws.
This does mean they remain unbeaten in the league and their only losses this season have been to Fortaleza in the Copa do Brasil and to Bolivar in this competition.
Quite incredibly, Palmeiras have also scored 20 goals in the league this campaign so far and let in just eight from nine outings.
As for Barcelona, they are down in third in Group C of the Libertadores with them winning just one game and losing three. That win, however, was against Bolivar, who defeated Palmeiras.
