Juventus set for narrow win over Udinese

Udinese welcome Juventus to the Stadio Friuli on Sunday, with the visitors needing to avoid defeat to stand any of chance snatch a Europa League spot.

As we head into the final round of Serie A fixtures, Juventus occupy seventh place in the table – one point shy of sixth-placed Roma.

As for Udinese, they find themselves 12th, meaning they are guaranteed a bottom-half finish but are not in danger of relegation.

It is fair to say that Udinese have experienced an inconsistence campaign, as they head into the final weekend with a record of 11 wins, 13 draws and 13 losses.

The Little Zebras have also scored 47 goals and conceded 47 goals, underlining the team’s unpredictability.

Following last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Salernitana, Udinese enter Sunday’s clash on a three-match losing streak, having fallen to Fiorentina and Lazio prior to that.

That said, Udinese have lost only one of their previous nine home league games, with three wins coming in their last six games at the Stadio Friuli.

Juventus, on the other hand, have registered 21 wins, six draws and 10 losses this season, scoring 55 goals while conceding just 33.

Although only the top three teams have picked up more wins this term, Juventus find themselves seventh due to a 10-point deduction.

Like Udinese, Juventus head into the final weekend in poor form, having suffered back-to-back defeats against Empoli and AC Milan.

It is also worth noting that Max Allegri’s men have lost five of their previous nine Serie A encounters, so they will not have it all their own way at the Stadio Friuli.

Head-to-head: Juventus defeat Udinese 1-0 back in January, meaning they have avoided defeat in each of their last five league meetings with the Little Zebras.

To make matters worse for Udinese, they have only managed to win one of their previous 14 Serie A matches against Juve, suffering 11 defeats along the way.

Team news: Udinese will be without the suspended Marvin Zeegelaar this weekend, while Kingsley Ehizibue and Enzo Ebosse are injured.

Juventus are currently without injured trio Paul Pogba, Nicolo Fagioli and Mattia De Sciglio, while Kaio Jorge and Dusan Vlahovic are doubts for Sunday.

There is no hiding that fact that both Udinese and Juventus are in poor form at the moment, but the visitors should have enough quality to come out on top.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Sunday, although Juventus are expected to outscore Udinese.
