The final round of fixtures in the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season take place on the 3rd of June including the meeting between Nice and Olympique Lyonnais.

The match will be played at the Allianz Riviera and the hosts begin the weekend in 9th place on 55 points while the visitors are in 7th place on 62 points.

Nice come into the game on the back of a 3-2 win at Montpellier last weekend in Ligue 1. It was Montpellier who opened the scoring and they doubled their lead in the 17th minute.

Nice stepped things up in the second half to produce a tremendous comeback and having got a goal back in the 53rd minute they scored twice in the space of 4 minutes to seal a good win.

The victory at Montpellier means Nice are undefeated in 4 of their last 5 fixtures, all of which have been played in Ligue 1. In addition to the win at Montpellier, there have been wins at Troyes and at home against Rennes. Nice picked up a point in a 0-0 draw at home with Toulouse but lost 2-0 at Strasbourg.

Home form in Ligue 1 shows Nice have been struggling to win games. They have recorded just a single victory from their 7 most recent home league matches. However, they have also been tough to beat and Nice are undefeated in 12 of their last 14 home Ligue 1 fixtures.

Lyon make the trip to the Allianz Riviera having beat Reims 3-0 at home last weekend in the league. It took Lyon just 2 minutes to open the scoring and they doubled their advantage only 7 minutes later.

Reims were reduced to 10 players in the 54th minute and Lyon rounded off the win by scoring a third goal in the 82nd minute.

The win over Reims means Lyon are undefeated in 4 of their last 5 games and they have won all 4 of those matches. In addition to the victory over Reims, Lyon have beat PSG and Toulouse away plus Rennes at home.

Away form in Ligue 1 shows Lyon are undefeated in 5 of their last 6 fixtures. They have won 3 of their 4 most recent away trips in the league and have lost only 2 of their last 11 Ligue 1 games on the road.

Looking ahead to the team news and Nice are without injured midfielder Khephren Thuram-Ulien. They also have doubts over the fitness of Aaron Ramsey, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, and Nicolas Pepe.

Lyon travel without the injured duo of Moussa Dembele and Sinaly Diomande. Dejan Lovren is a doubt due to a thigh problem.

This is a must win match for Lyon if they are to have any hope of playing in Europe next season. Nice have nothing to play for other than the possibility of finishing in 8th place.

The extra determination to win could be what makes the difference in this game and we expect Lyon to come out on top, with under 2.5 goals scored.
