Urawa Red Diamonds will welcome Sagan Tosu to the SAITAMA STADIUM 2002 after narrowly winning the AFC Champions League against defending champions Al Hilal with the home side aiming to now use this to get their league form back on track.

It was the third time in which Urawa have won the AFC Champions League after wins in 2007 and 2017.

Despite this excellent win, they have failed to get into the top four of the J1 League since that 2017 triumph, but they were the better team against Al Hilal across two legs after Shinzo Koroki scored an equaliser in the second half of the first leg.

The second and decisive leg of the AFC Champions League final was decided on an own goal but this does mean just one win in the past month for Urawa.

The club started April with a 0-0 draw in the J. League Cup against Kawasaki before drawing 0-0 with Nagoya too. They then went on to defeat Consadole Sapporo 4-1 thanks to goals from Alexander Scholz, Koroko, and a late finish from Marius Hoibraten.

A 1-1 draw with Shonan Bellmare back in the cup would come soon after before they then went on to draw away to Kawasaki once more but in the league.

They now sit down in eighth in the J1 League and with five wins from nine games. However, they have three games in hand on most sides above them and should they win those fixtures, the club could rocket themselves into level points with first-placed Vissel Kobe.

Sagan Tosu have failed to win the past two games in May after a 3-1 home loss to Yokohama FM before a 1-0 defeat to Kawasaki. Fuchi Honda scored early on in the game against Yokohama before letting a lead go after just seven minutes.

The club's last win came in a 3-2 victory over Kyoto Sanga in a game that saw Honda score once more after an own goal and a finish from Yuji Ono.

The club now sit in 15th with just three wins this season and 17 goals conceded already. Tosu have lost six times and sit behind Urawa by six points having also played two more games than them.

Alarmingly, the club still sit just five points above Yokohama FC in the relegation spot.

Forebet predicts a win for the AFC Champions League winners and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
