Bayern Expected to Remain Top With a Win Over Bremen
Werder Bremen vs Bayern München - 06/05/2023
3430
Bayern Munich are clinging onto top spot once more in the Bundesliga right now with the champions moving above Borussia Dortmund after last weekend's results and ahead of this trip to the Weser Stadium to meet with Werder Bremen.
A goal each in the second half from Serge Gnabry and Kinglsey Coman forced a 2-0 win for Bayern against last-placed Hertha Berlin last weekend after the league leaders had a stunning 82% of the ball that day and 26 shots, just as they conceded one shot on target from Hertha.
Dortmund dropped points at the same time and now the club have moved ahead of them and into first with their record of just four losses, 81 goals scored and 33 goals conceded.
Bayern lost to Mainz just before this after taking the lead through Sadio Mane in the first half before letting in three goals in the second half.
The victory against Hertha was also the first victory for Bayern in four games since their win over Freiburg away from home. Thomas Tuchel's men went on to lose 3-0 to Bayern Munich, draw with Hoffenheim and City once more, before that loss to Mainz.
Bremen were beaten by Schalke in the league last time out after taking the lead through Marvin Ducksch in the first half.
However, two goals in the last 10 minutes handed all points to Schalke in a game where they conceded 10 shots on target, just as Bremen had only one of their own.
It moved the club down into 13th and although relegation is very unlikely in the remaining four games, they are only seven points above the drop zone and can still be mathematically dragged into the bottom three as there are still 12 points to play for.
Bayern battered Bremen in the reverse fixture of this game, as Anthony Jung scored after 10 minutes to equalise after a goal in the sixth minute from Jamal Musiala.
The champions would go on to score three more in the first half, as Gnabry secured his hat trick in the second half before Mathys Tel netted. Leon Goretzka also scored that day.
Bremen have also let in the most goals for those sitting out of the relegation zone with 58 goals let in from 30 games. They've also lost 15 times and it seems they will lose again here.
Forebet predicts a victory for Bayern and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
