Fifth-placed Atalanta welcome third-placed Juventus to the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday, with five points separating the clubs in the Serie A table.

With five games remaining this term, a win this weekend would see Juventus all but secure a top-four finish and qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

A victory for Atalanta, however, would take them to within two points of the Old Lady and set up a dramatic end to the campaign.

Thanks to a 3-2 victory over Spezia in midweek, Atalanta head into Sunday’s showdown on a three-match winning streak, having recently dispatched Roma and Torino.

Better still, Atalanta have lost just one of their last seven league outings, picking up five wins and one draw along the way.

It is worth noting, however, that Atalanta have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their previous eight Serie A games, with only one shutout coming in their last 11.

That said, Atalanta are the third-highest scorers in the division, having netted 56 goals in 33 matches this season.

Juventus, meanwhile, suffered three consecutive Serie A defeats last month, falling to Lazio, Sassuolo and Napoli while scoring just once.

But Max Allegri’s side have taken four points from a possible six since then, drawing with Bologna before defeating Lecce 2-1 on Wednesday.

Juve enjoyed a remarkable run of seven victories in eight league games between February and April, highlighting their strength.

Although Juventus have struggled for consistency in recent times, they will be hopeful of overcoming Atalanta.

Head-to-head: Atalanta have lost just one of their last nine league meetings with Juventus, recording two wins and six draws in that time.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, Juventus have only lost two of their previous 35 Serie A meetings with Atalanta.

Team news: Atalanta will be without the injured trio of Hans Hateboer, Lukas Vorlicky and Matteo Ruggeri this weekend, while Ademola Lookman and Brandon Soppy are doubts.

On the flip side, Juventus currently have Kaio Jorge and Moise Kean sidelined through injury, while Angel Di Maria is a doubt for Sunday’s clash.

Although Atalanta are enjoying a three-game winning run, there is no hiding the fact that La Dea have won only two of their last 35 league meetings with Juventus.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Juventus will edge out Atalanta on Sunday, scoring over 1.5 goals en route to victory.
