Sevilla Back to Winning Ways as They Heap Misery on Espanyol

Sevilla are aiming to get back into the win column after a loss last time out with the club sitting in 11th and eyeing up the top half of the table when they play hosts to Espanyol at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

This period has been an incredibly hectic one for Sevilla, as they now come into this game having to play at least once every four days from now until the end of the month with the club also battling in the Europa League with Juventus across two legs of a semi-finals battle.

Last time out in La Liga, their winning run came to an end after a 2-0 home loss against the odds from Girona. Sevilla had just two shots on target at home that day and struggled to get into the match throughout the entirety of the 90 minutes.

Previous to this, however, Sevilla managed to defeat Athletic Club 1-0 away from home after also beating Villarreal 2-1 back in Sevilla. What's more, the club registered home wins over Valencia and Cadiz throughout April after also drawing 2-2 with Celta Vigo.

The Europa League serial winners also managed to get yet another famous win over Manchester United in the competition throughout April, as they smashed the Premier League giants 3-0 after drawing with them 2-2 at Old Trafford following on from two late goals.

Sevilla are now sitting behind Rayo Vallecano in 10th by just two points and will have to make up a gap of eight if they are to get into the sixth-placed Europa Conference League spot. This remains unlikely, however, after netting just 38 goals from 32 games and losing 13 of those with 11 wins.

Nevertheless, fans will just be pleased about another Europa League run after being in the relegation zone for a chunk of this season just a few months back and with fans fearing the worst before the World Cup break.

As for Espanyol, they themselves are staring in the face of relegation with the club now losing 15 times and winning just seven of the 32 games.

What's more, they are heading into this one with 53 goals let in but with the same amount of goals scored as the 11th-placed Sevilla.

Last time out, Espantol defeated Getafe to give them hope of getting out of the bottom three with them now only two points behind safety.

Forebet predicts a win for Sevilla here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
