17th will take on 16th in Ligue 1 this Wednesday night in what is turning out to be the biggest game of the season for both Brest and Nantes as we approach the final few games of the season in this tense relegation battle.

Brest are sitting just inside the relegation zone ahead of this game and there is now a goals difference gap that keeps them behind their opposition in this one. Ultimately, Brest must now win the game to jump out of the bottom four and there won't be a chance to do so with a draw.

This comes off the back of them losing two more games, despite winning one more from the 32 outings. At the same time, both have scored 35 goals, but Nantes have conceded two fewer.

Brest are, however, on a five-game unbeaten run that has seen them give their hopes of getting out of the relegation spots a huge boost. This started with a 2-2 draw against Troyes, as they then went on to defeat Toulouse 3-1 thanks to goals from Jeremy Le Douaron, Steve Mounie and Mahdi Camara.

A 1-1 draw with Reims would come soon after, before they then went on to defeat Nice at home thanks to another finish from Le Douaron in the first half. Brest missed the opportunity to move out of the relegation spots last weekend when they drew with Ajaccio 0-0.

Nantes are heading into this one with their season taking a massive hit after losing the French Cup final in stunning style. The club were defending the French Cup trophy last Saturday, but four goals in the first 30 minutes of the game ended all hope for them, as Ludovic Blas scored a second half penalty.

They have now not won a game since defeating Lyon in the semi-finals, as the club also lost to Remis in April, alongside a draw with Monaco and a 2-1 loss to Auxerre. Two weeks back in their last league outing, Nantes drew 2-2 with Troyes.

In fact, you have to go all the way back to the start of February to see the club's last win in Ligue 1 after a 1-0 victory over Lorient. Nantes have now won just six games in the league all season long, and a loss here could end up being their worst of the campaign.

Forebet predicts a close game in this one with both teams still fighting relegation. Forebet also predicts a draw and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
