United Set to Edge Past Aston Villa at Old Trafford

Aston Villa will aim to take their biggest jump towards the European spots in the Premier League this weekend when the club heads to Old Trafford where Manchester United are searching for their first win in 90 minutes in three games.

Regardless of the recent struggles that has seen the club exit the Europa League in stunning style and lose a two-goal lead to Tottenham Hotspur, United have still made it to the FA Cup final following a 0-0 draw and penalty shootout win against Brighton & Hove Albion.

As for Unai Emery, he has been sensational since his arrival at Villa Park and he is now the first manager in Premier League history see his team net at least one goal in the first 20 games he has been in charge of

What’s more, following a midweek draw between United and Tottenham Hotspur, Villa are level on points with Spurs in fifth and behind United in fourth by six points.

In fact, a win here would mean a three-point gap on Villa in fourth and it would no doubt get fans dreaming of a spot in the Champions League.

Villa defeated Fulham 1-0 last time out after a goal from Tyrone Mings, and this carried on the club's unbeaten run to 10 games. This has seen Emery guide his side to a 3-0 win over third-placed Newcastle United and a 2-0 win away to Chelsea.

United's last win in 90 minutes came against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, as the club lost a 2-0 lead in midweek after a goal in the first half from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

United's lack of victories has been largely down to their injuries that got picked up in the first leg against Sevilla, as Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are ruled out for many more weeks with the Argentine out for the season alongside Donny van de Beek.

Victor Lindelof will likely play alongside Harry Maguire for the final few games, or Luke Shaw at centre-back. Scott McTominay is still out injured, but Alejandro Garnacho is nearing a return although not quite ready to play here.

Villa are set to be without Leon Bailey and Matty Cash and Philippe Coutinho and Boubacar Kamara are also still injured for a few more games.

Despite the incredible form from Villa, Forebet predicts a win for United here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
