Crystal Palace and West Ham set for PL relegation six-pointer

West Ham are not out of danger in the Premier League relegation battle. David Moyes are 14th with 34 points from 32 matches. Five points separate West Ham from the bottom three, with six matches left to play.

The Hammers will head to the south side of London on Saturday for a lunchtime kick-off against Crystal Palace. Palace are 12th in the league, with 37 points. The Eagles are eight points above the relegation zone. Another win could seal Palace’s safety for next term.

Roy Hodgson has improved the Eagles since returning as manager. However, Crystal Palace are on a two-match winless streak following on from their three-match winning streak inspired by Hodgson.

Palace went to the London Stadium in the reverse fixture and left as 2-1 winners. West Ham’s Said Benrahma scored in the 20th minute, but the Hammers couldn’t hold the lead.

Wilfried Zaha equalised in the 41st minute and Michael Olise completed the comeback with a goal in second-half stoppage time.

Crystal Palace and West Ham combined for over 2.5 goals in six of their last seven matches. The Eagles saw 2.0 goals or more in four of their last five fixtures.

West Ham took 10 points from their last six matches in the league. Until their 2-1 loss to Liverpool in midweek, West Ham were unbeaten in three straight matches. West Ham scored 10 goals and conceded nine times in the last six matches.

Crystal Palace also took 10 points from their last six matches in the league. They outscored their last six opponents 10-8 across their six fixtures.

There is a myth in the Premier League that Crystal Palace are nearly unbeatable at Selhurst Park. The Eagles took just 21 points from 16 home matches, posting a record of 5W-6D-5L and a goal difference of –5.

Hodgson could once again be without Zaha due to a groin injury. He could be a game-time decision. Full-back Nathaniel Clyne is unlikely to play following a knee injury. Centre-back Joachim Andersen should miss the match through injury. Nathan Ferguson is ruled out with a muscle tear.

Moyes has just one injury to worry about. Striker Gianluca Scamacca underwent knee surgery recently and is out of action.

West Ham are on a two-match away win streak. Will it help them at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace? The Hammers won on their last two trips to Selhurst Park in the league.

Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
