Sheffield United Nearer to Promotion by Beating Bristol

Sheffield United will be aiming for one more giant leap towards promotion this week before they meet with Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals as Bristol City come next at Bramall Lane for the Blades.

United will have one eye on their match with City at Wembley on the weekend, but with the Premier League champions set to be the clear favourites to win that day, the club will firstly be hoping to get closer to promotion this Tuesday.

Ahead of this game, the club are coming to Bramall Lane with 24 wins now after smashing Cardiff City 4-1 that saw James McAtee, Jack Robinson, Iliman Ndiaye and Ciaran Clark all score goals each in a comeback win.

This came just one week on from losing to the already-promoted league leaders Burnley at Turf Moor, and the gap is now 12 points on the table-topping side, meaning the Blades can still technically win the league title.

However, with just 15 points left on the table, it's tough to see how they do so and Luton Town in third are just five points behind too.

On the other hand, with this being a game in hand for the Blades to play with, it now means the gap on third could go to eight points and this will surely put one foot back in the Premier League for them with only 12 points left to play for thereafter.

As for Bristol, their struggles to get into the top half of the table continued for them and with relegation fears non-existent and hopes of a playoffs battle far from a reality too, the Robins are merely plodding to the end of the season in hopes of finishing as high as possible.

Bristol are sitting with 13 wins on the board and with 50 goals scored and 52 conceded, it's clear to see where it has all gone wrong for them this campaign.

What's more, they have collected just 53 points so far after losing 2-0 to Watford last weekend and drawing with Middlesbrough 2-2 around this time last week.

Nigel Pearson's men did secure a 2-1 win away to Stoke City earlier this month, however, as Zak Vyner and Anis Mehmeti scored a goal each late on in a comeback win. With Bristol also drawing with Reading, this remains their only win in April.

Forebet predicts a win for United and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
