Burnley to continue unbeaten streak against Rotherham
3423

Burnley are already the champion of the Championship. The Clarets are simply seeing out the remainder of the Championship season and preparing for a return to the Premier League.

On Tuesday night, Burnley will visit Rotherham, as they seek a 22nd straight league match without defeat.

Rotherham are 18th in the Championship table ahead of Burnley’s visit. The Millers are unbeaten in three of their last four Championship matches. Rotherham are three points above the relegation zone ahead of the midweek match with just five games left to play.

Burnley defeated Rotherham 3-2 earlier this season, coming from behind twice to post the win. Rotherham’s Ben Wiles opened the scoring in the third minute, but Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez levelled the scores 32 minutes later.

The Millers were back in front thanks to a Chiedozie Ogbene goal just after the hour mark. Rotherham looked set to win the match until Benson Manuel scored in the first minute of stoppage time to tie the game. Burnley’s Halil Dervisoglu scored eight minutes later to win the game.

Burnley took 14 points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. The team outscored its last six opponents 10-2. The Clarets are the Championship’s best away team, with 40 points from 20 games.

Rotherham, on the other hand, took five points from the last 18 points on offer. The Millers were outscored 7-4. The team went unbeaten in three of its last four matches but was defeated 2-0 at home by Luton Town last time out.

The Millers have a respectable home record for a team battling relegation. Their home record is 8W-5D-7L, with 33 goals for and 26 against.

Burnley’s defence has been playing well. They kept six clean sheets in their last eight Championship games. No team has conceded fewer goals than Burnley (30). Only Middlesbrough scored more goals than the Clarets’ 78. Vincent Kompany has no fresh injury issues going into the match.

Rotherham came up to the Championship at the start of the season. Manager Matt Taylor, who replaced Paul Warne in September, has six names on the injury list.

Conor Washington is out with a knee injury. Viktor Johansson is out with a shoulder injury. Bailey Wright will miss the remainder of the season with a ligament problem.

Grant Hall is a doubt to play thanks to a hamstring injury. Ben Wiles is also a doubt following an ankle problem. Defender Sean Morrison is out for the rest of the season with a thigh injury.

Burnley are rolling back to the Premier League and should roll over Rotherham away from home. The Clarets should play better defensively than in the reverse fixture, posting a 3-0 win.
