Spezia will welcome Lazio to the Stadio Alberto Picco with both sides in completely different areas of the Serie A table as the home side aims to rocket further away from the drop zone just as the Rome outfit look to hang onto second.

Spezia's lengthy winless run carried on last week when they drew 1-1 with Fiorentina and this now brings them within just four points of Hellas Verona in 18th and the closest they've been to the bottom three all season long.

Worse yet, Verona have managed to close the gap on the goals difference margin too with Spezia now behind on goals difference after 25 goals scored and 45 let in from 29 games.

There are now just nine games left for Spezia, and based on current form of them and Verona, the club could rocket into the bottom three very soon.

Spezia also drew 1-1 with Salernitana and even secured a 1-1 draw against Monaco during the international break.

Prior to the break, the 17th-placed Serie A side lost 1-0 to Sassuolo but they did manage to stun Inter Milan 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Daniel Maldini and M'Bala Nzola.

This was, however, Spezia's only win in the past three months and you have to go all the way back to just after the World Cup break in mid-January to see their last win when they defeated Torino in Turin 1-0.

As for Lazio, they put down their biggest marker on second place last time out by defeating the in-form Juventus.

In fact, with the gap now 14 points on Juventus down in seventh, they have now turned over the idea that Juventus would be ahead of them in the table if it wasn't for their 15-point deduction a few months back.

Lazio are now ahead of rivals Roma by five points and they have a gap of seven on Inter Milan in fifth in terms of getting back into the Champions League for next season.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic put on a clinic last time out against Juventus with a first half goal before Mattia Zaccagni won it for Maurizio Sarri's men.

Lazio have also beaten Roma in the past month and it puts them as the most in-form side in Italy after Napoli’s stunning losses to AC Milan.

Forebet predicts another win for Lazio in this one and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
