Juventus expected to maintain strong Serie A form against Lazio

Juventus will go in search of an eighth victory in nine Serie A matches when they face Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.

Despite a 15-point deduction, Juventus find themselves seventh in the Serie A table – six points outside the Champions League places.

That said, Max Allegri’s men will have their work cut out on Saturday, as Lazio occupy second place in the standings and sit 11 points clear of Juve.

Lazio head into Saturday’s clash on a six-game unbeaten run in the league, having picked up five wins and one draw since their last loss.

Better still, the Eagles have lost just one of their previous 12 Serie A matches, securing seven wins and four draws along the way.

It is also worth noting that Lazio have kept six consecutive clean sheets in the league, preventing Salernitana, Sampdoria, Napoli, Bologna, Roma and Monza from scoring.

As a result, the Eagles boast the second-best defensive record in the division, having conceded one goal fewer than high-flying Napoli.

On the flip side, Juventus played out a 1-1 draw with Inter Milan in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday, conceding a stoppage-time penalty.

It is worth remembering, however, that Allegri’s side remain unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions, having claimed five straight wins prior to Tuesday’s draw.

Juve have also lost just one of their previous 14 games in all competitions, securing 11 wins and two draws in the process.

If it weren’t for the 15-point deduction, Juventus be second in the Serie A table – four points clear of Lazio.

Head-to-head: Juventus have avoided defeat in each of their last seven meetings with Lazio, picking up five victories during that period.

Lazio have managed to win just one of their previous 10 Serie A matches against Juventus, suffering seven defeats in the process.

Team news: Lazio have reported no injury problems ahead of Saturday’s showdown, meaning Maurizio Sarri has a full-strength squad at his disposal.

Juventus, on the other hand, will be without Paul Pogba and Kaio Jorge this weekend, while Leonardo Bonucci is a doubt.

Given that Juventus have won seven of their last 10 league meetings with Lazio, Allegri’s men are expected to claim all three points this time around.

Forebet predicts that Juventus will notch a low-scoring win over Lazio, with the visitors expected to keep a clean sheet en route to victory.
