Newcastle aiming for fourth straight PL win
7124

Newcastle United rebounded from their dip in form in January and February. The Magpies are on a three-game winning streak in the Premier League and are coming off a brilliant 2-0 win over Manchester United at home.

The victory over United sent Newcastle into the top three. The race for third and fourth place is competitive, as Newcastle, Tottenham, and Man United are all locked on 50 points.

West Ham will welcome Newcastle to the London Stadium on Wednesday. David Moyes’s team will start the midweek round of Premier League fixtures in 14th place. However, the Hammers are just one point clear of the bottom three.

The relegation battle is the most competitive in Premier League history. Nine teams are fighting against relegation and only seven points separate 12th-place Crystal Palace from 20th-place Southampton.

The last two meetings between West Ham and Newcastle finished 1-1. The reverse fixture saw Newcastle’s Callum Wilson score in the third minute only for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta to equalise just after the half-hour mark.

Newcastle went unbeaten in five of their last six matches versus West Ham. The last four games between the clubs finished with both teams scoring goals.

The Magpies took 10 points from their last six games and are on a three-game win streak. Newcastle scored seven goals and conceded seven across those six matches.

West Ham picked up eight points from their last six games. They are unbeaten in back-to-back games ahead of Wednesday night. The Hammers scored seven goals and conceded eight times in their last six matches.

Newcastle are a strong road team. They posted a record of 5W-6D-2L away from St James’ Park. West Ham have a 6W-3D-5L record at home and results have improved in the second half of the season playing at the London Stadium.

Moyes has one player on the injury list, as striker Gianluca Scamacca is fighting to get fit following a knee injury. He is the only injury problem for Moyes right now.

Eddie Howe will be without midfielder Miguel Almiron following a thigh injury. Joe Willock could be fit to face West Ham but may only make the bench. Ryan Fraser and Emil Krath are both ruled out of action with injuries.

Newcastle are flying high once more in the Premier League. Champions League qualification looks likely, and they should take another step toward a top-four finish with a win over West Ham. The Magpies should win on the road 2-1.
