Boro to End Stoke's Excellent Goalscoring Streak With a Win

Stoke City will be bidding to keep up their sensational form this weekend when they meet with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium as the Potters head into this match with two of their best results of the season under their belts.

Stoke struggled throughout February and ended the month with a 1-0 home loss to Millwall and then a defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Bet365 Stadium in the FA Cup fifth round.

Now, however, they are up into 14th after registering two excellent results in the Championship that saw the club score a stunning record of 18 goals.

The Potters hammered Sunderland 5-1 in what was the heaviest defeat of the Black Cats' season and the best result of the campaign for Stoke in all competitions.

Josh Laurent got the ball rolling with a goal that day, before Tyrese Campbell netted a quick-fire double with a goal inside four minutes during the second half.

Dwight Gayle finally returned to the goalscoring sheet with two goals himself towards the end of the game, as Stoke won 5-1 in the North East and had eight shots on target.

Alex Neil then guided his side to a fantastic 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers that saw the club take a 3-0 lead and eventually end the game 3-2.

Ki-Jana Hoever scored his first brace for the Neil's team, as he scored twice inside the first half. Tyrese Campbell then went on to score late on in the first half before two goals in the last four minutes for Blackburn.

Boro themselves are in incredible form and now sit third in the Championship table and have closed the gap to just four points on Sheffield United in second.

This comes after an incredible 3-1 win over Swansea City, as Middlesbrough also went on to smash Reading 5-0 shortly after their 2-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion.

Michael Carrick has now launched the North East outfit up into third from the relegation zone within just four months, and better yet, Carrick's men now sit eight points above Norwich City in seventh and it would be quite disastrous if they were to lose their spot in the top six.

Boro have now gone on to win 19 games this season and lost 11, scoring 64 times in these 36 games - this is only bettered by Burnley at the top of the table.

Forebet predicts a win for Boro here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
