Juventus to roll over last-place Sampdoria in Serie A
3281

Juventus continue to rack up wins in Serie A despite a points deduction. The Bianconeri are seventh in the Serie A standings with seven points separating them from the final European qualification place.

On Sunday night, Juventus will host 20th-place Sampdoria at the Allianz Arena. The Bianconeri are unbeaten in six straight matches versus Sampdoria ahead of the fixture. Max Allegri will expect another win, as Juve fight for a European place.

Sampdoria are headed down to Serie B as it stands. The Blucerchiati are nine points from safety in the Serie A table. With only two wins this season, it looks highly unlikely Sampdoria can mount a winning run in the final months of the campaign to overturn relegation.

The Blucerchiati did manage a nil-nil draw against Juventus at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris earlier this season. However, Juventus are in fine form ahead of the match.

On Thursday night, Juventus defeated Germany’s Freiburg 1-0 thanks to an Angel Di Maria goal in the first leg of the Europa League last-16.

Juventus took 12 points from the last 18 points on offer, scoring 10 goals and conceding five. They were beaten by Roma last weekend, 1-0, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. It was Juve’s fifth defeat of the season.

Sampdoria managed three points across the last six games. All three points came from draws, as the Blucerchiati scored a mere three goals in the last six matches. Sampdoria won a mere three matches in the opening 25 in Serie A.

Juventus won their last eight home matches against Sampdoria in all competitions. Meanwhile, Sampdoria failed to score a goal in 11 of their last 14 Serie A fixtures.

No team in Serie A has scored fewer than Sampdoria’s 11 goals. Meanwhile, Samp conceded the fourth-most goals with 39.

Allegri will be without Moises Kean due to a red-card suspension. Defender Mattia De Sciglio is out with a muscle injury. Forwards Arkadiusz Milik and Kaio Jorge are unlikely to play due to their respective injuries.

Sampdoria coach Dejan Stankovic could be without forwards Filip Djuricic and Ignacio Pussetto due to injuries. Defenders Jeison Murillo and Andrea Conti are both unlikely to play either. Meanwhile, Sam Lammers, Emirhan Ilkhan, and Emil Audero are listed as carrying injuries.

Juventus should have no problem picking up another win over Sampdoria. Sunday’s match will be Juventus’s ninth straight home win over Sampdoria in all competitions. It should be a crushing defeat for Sampdoria with Juventus winning 3-0.
