London rivals Brentford and Fulham will wrap up Matchday 26 of the 2022-23 Premier League season when they lock horns at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday night.

The neighbours are separated by just four points in the Premier League table, with seventh-placed Fulham leading ninth-placed Brentford.

Can the Cottagers enhance their European ambitions on Monday? Or will the Bees close the gap? It’s time to take a closer look at both sides.

Let’s start by analysing the hosts, Brentford, who head into Monday’s clash on the back of 1-1 draws against Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

As a result, Thomas Frank’s side have now avoided defeat in each of their last 11 Premier League outings, securing five wins and six draws along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Bees have lost just four of their 23 league matches this season, meaning only Arsenal and Newcastle United have suffered fewer defeats.

With one loss coming in their previous 14 Premier League games, Brentford will be confident of avoiding defeat on Monday, regardless of Fulham’s position in the table.

As for the Cottagers, they booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United in midweek.

Consequently, Fulham head into Monday’s showdown on a seven-match unbeaten streak across all competitions, with four wins coming their last five outings.

It is also worth noting that Marco Silva’s men have only lost two of their previous 14 games in all competitions, picking up nine wins and three draws in that time.

On top of that, Fulham have lost just one of their last seven away outings, so they will fancy their chances of frustrating Brentford.

Head-to-head: Fulham claimed a 3-2 victory over Brentford in the reverse fixture at Craven Cottage back in August, ending a seven-game winless run against the Bees.

With three low-scoring draws coming in the past eight meetings between the teams, the chances of seeing a stalemate on Monday are relatively high.

Team news: Brentford have reported no fresh injury problems ahead of Monday’s clash, although Thomas Starkosha, Frank Onyeka and Pontus Jansson remain doubtful.

Fulham will be without the suspended Joao Palhinha on Monday, while Tom Cairney, Neeskens Kebano and Layvin Kurzawa are all injured.

No team has recorded more draws than Brentford’s 11 this season, so Monday’s clash is likely to be a close-fought battle between two evenly matched sides.

Forebet predicts that Brentford and Fulham will play out a goalless draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.
