Juventus to climb Serie A table with victory over Fiorentina

Following a hefty points deduction, Juventus will be looking to make up ground in the Serie A table when they host Fiorentina on Sunday.

Having been docked 15 points for financial irregularities, Juventus find themselves down in tenth place – 13 points shy of the Champions League spots.

However, Max Allegri’s side still lead Fiorentina, who sit thirteenth – two points shy of Juve and 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Juventus head into Sunday’s clash on the back of a 3-0 win against Salernitana in midweek, with Dusan Vlahovic bagging a brace in the rout.

The Old Lady have now won three of their previous five games in all competitions, booking their place in the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a 1-0 victory over Lazio last week.

It is worth noting that, despite sitting tenth in the table, Juventus have only lost four of their 21 Serie A matches this season.

On top of that, only table-topping Napoli have conceded fewer Serie A goals than Juve’s 17 this season – highlighting their defensive solidity.

As for Fiorentina, they head into this clash on a four-game winless run in Serie A, having recorded one draw and three losses since their last victory.

When you look at the bigger picture, La Viola have only managed to win one of their previous seven league encounters.

To make matters worse for Fiorentina, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight Serie A matches – conceding over 1.5 goals on three occasions in that time.

Although they drew 1-1 with Juventus in the reverse fixture back in September, Fiorentina look set to struggle against the Old Lady this time around.

Head-to-head: Fiorentina have only managed to win two of their previous 11 league meetings with Juventus, suffering six defeats during that period.

Juve have scored over 1.5 goals in eight of their last 10 league victories against La Viola, asserting their dominance over Fiorentina.

Team news: Juve’s lengthy injury list contains Paul Pogba, Leandro Paredes, Arkadiusz Milik, Leonardo Bonucci and Kaio Jorge.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina will be without the injured Gaetano Castrovilli on Sunday as the midfielder continues to recover from a calf problem.

With plenty of ground to make up, Juventus will be eager to claim all three points and advance up the table this weekend.

Forebet predicts that Juventus will claim all three points on home soil, although both teams are expected to score.
