Torino will be fairly desperate to get back in the win column after a struggle in the past week that has seen them move down the Serie A table and exit the Coppa Italia with the Turin side set to welcome Udinese to the Olympic Grande Stadium in what could be one of the biggest games of either sides' season.
Ahead of the meeting, barely anything is keeping the two sides apart in Serie A with Udinese in seventh and ahead of Torino in eighth.
In fact, with the top six European spots going to the big sides in Italy right now as Juventus sit down in 13th after their points deduction, Udinese and Torino can clearly be classed as the best of the rest in Serie A this season.
On the other hand, unless there is a dramatic fall down the table in the next few weeks from the likes of Roma, it does seem unlikely that these two sides will be unable to get into the European spots this year.
Ahead of the meeting in Turin, Udinese have won seven games in Serie A, just as Torino have the same record.
What keeps the Udine side ahead of them right now is the two fewer losses in the league, which also means the Turin outfit have managed to draw two extra games.
Ivan Juric's men have also managed to score just 21 goals this season and let in just 22 as well. Udinese have conceded the same amount, but on the other hand, they have scored seven more goals.
Juric's side lost to Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia in midweek and this came just 10 days after beating the Florence outfit in Florence in the league.
In the Coppa Italia battle, Yan Karamoh scored in the 93rd minute to make it a 2-1 loss, as Aleksei Miranchuk scored the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in the league.
Udinese drew 1-1 with Hellas Verona last time out in the league to make it two games without a loss after a struggling start to life back in action after the World Cup. Udinese previously lost to Bologna and Juventus and drew 1-1 with Empoli.
Torino also drew 2-2 with Empoli two weeks back and it makes it even tougher to separate these two sides ahead of the game. Forebet does predict a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
