Inter Expected to Make it 8 Unbeaten in a Row Against Empoli

As Inter Milan aim to get back into the top three in Serie A for the first time this season, Empoli are eyeing up a spot in the top half of the table with the latter club sat down in 12th ahead of a meeting at the San Siro.

Inter have been in Saudi Arabia this week which may give Empoli some hope in being able to snatch all three points due to the long-distance travelling. The San Siro side met with their arch city rivals, AC Milan, over in Asia.

The 3-0 win for Inter that day handed Inter another Supercoppa Italiana, as Federico Dimarco and Edin Dzeko scored goals in the first half. Lautaro Martinez made sure of the trophy in Saudi Arabia with a goal towards the end of the game.

Back in Italy, Inter have gone on to put together a four-game unbeaten run since domestic action continued after the World Cup, becoming the only team to beat Napoli in Italy this season thanks to another Dzeko goal in a 1-0 victory at the San Siro.

Simeone Inzaghi's men then went to Monza and let a lead slip on two occasions that day.

A 2-1 victory over Parma in the Coppa Italia round of 16 also puts Inzaghi's side in the last eight of that competition, before a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona ensured they stayed in fourth in Serie A.

The Milan outfit are now just one point behind their neighbours in second and behind Napoli by 10 points at the top of the table.

The club are level on points with Juventus in third, but they are behind the Old Lady because of their sensational defensive record of 12 goals conceded - Inter have still netted the most goals in the league after Napoli with 38 goals in 18 games.

As for Empoli, they have not been in cup action over the past two weeks, so they have played out just three games since Serie A returned compared to Inter's five.

Empoli restarted their league campaign with two draws in a row against Udinese and Lazio, as they came from behind in the win against the Rome outfit with a goal in the 92rd minute.

A 1-0 victory over Sampdoria for Paolo Zanetti's men puts them in 12th and has all but killed any remaining fears of relegation too. Forebet does predict a win for Inter, however, and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
