Sheffield United to continue fine Championship form with win against Hull City

Sheffield United are 11 points clear of third-place Watford in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League. The Blades are second in the standings and five points off first-place Burnley in the race for the Championship title.

United visited Hull City in September and they left with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Oliver McBurnie and Sander Berge. Sheffield United are on a six-game unbeaten streak with five of those games ending as wins.

Hull City hire Liam Rosenior on November 3 with the team struggling for points. Since the arrival of the ex-Derby County coach returned to Hull City as coach after playing 144 times for the club in league football.

The Tigers are 16th in the division and unbeaten in six consecutive matches. Eight points currently separate Hull City from the relegation zone.

The Tigers are in good form as they took 10 points from the last 18 points on offer. The defence was strong as they conceded four times and scored eight goals in those six games.

Sheffield United picked up 16 points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. The Blades scored 12 goals and conceded five times across the last six matches.

It was the second most points in the Championship in the last six matches.

United are on a three-game winning streak heading into the fixture. They have a record of 8W-3D-2L at Bramall Lane this term. Hull City are playing well on the road and are on a two-game away win streak. Nineteen of Hull’s 34 points in the Championship were obtained on the road.

Rosenior has three players in the treatment room ahead of the fixture. Forward Sayyadmanesh is out with a hamstring injury until February. Dimitrios Pelkas won’t play until March due to a knee injury. Vaughn Covil is also ruled out until the spring with a knee injury.

Five players are on the Sheffield United injury list. Midfielders Ismaila Coulibaly and John Fleck are both expected to miss the game with leg injuries.

Forward Rhian Brewster has a hamstring injury and is likely out of action. Defenders Norrington-Davies and Jack O’Connell are both doubts.

Sheffield United are on a strong run of form and nearly unbeatable at home. The Blades should post a second win this season against Hull City by a score of 3-1. A win could cut Burnley’s lead at the top of the Championship table.
