Tottenham Hotspur slipped out of the Premier League’s top four with a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa on matchday No 17. Now, Spurs need a win to end a two-game winless streak and reignite hopes of a top-four finish.

On Wednesday, Tottenham will visit Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace. Patrick Vieira’s Palace are 11th in the standings and coming off a 2-0 away to Bournemouth. The victory ended a two-game losing streak for the Eagles.

Crystal Palace have played well against Tottenham in their last six meetings. The Eagles picked up one win, two draws, and three defeats across those six matches. The teams’ meeting at Selhurst Park last term ended in a 3-0 win for Palace.

Tottenham Hotspur took just seven points from their last six games in the league. Antonio Conte’s team scored 11 goals but conceded 13 times across the last six matches.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last two away matches. Tottenham have posted a 3W-3D-2L record overall on the road in the league this term.

Crystal Palace picked up nine points from their last six games in the Premier League. Goals have been difficult to score for the Eagles. They managed just five goals scored across the last six games while conceding eight times to opponents.

Palace have a 4W-1D-3L record at Selhurst Park. They fell 3-0 to Fulham at home in their most recent home fixture. It ended a three-game winning streak at Selhurst Park.

Spurs need to improve their defence immediately. Even with Hugo Lloris and Cristiano Romero back in the team against Aston Villa, goals were conceded. Tottenham conceded at least two goals in each of their last seven league games ahead of the trip to south London.

The last three games between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur ended with over 2.5 goals. There is a chance that these teams will once again combine for more than 2.5 goals on Wednesday night.

Vieira has three players on the treatment table ahead of the match. Sam Johnstone, James McArthur, and Nathan Ferguson will all miss the game. Meanwhile, Tyrick Mitchell and James Tomkins will serve suspensions for yellow card accumulation.

Conte will be without Richarlison, Lucas Moura, and Rodrigo Bentancur. All three are nursing injuries. Meanwhile, Yves Bissouma is ruled out due to suspension. Dejan Kulusevski is a major doubt following a muscle injury.

Spurs are not playing well but should be able to overcome Crystal Palace away from home. Tottenham are unbeaten in back-to-back road games and should edge Palace 2-1 at full-time.
