Third meets with fourth in the Chinese Super League this Thursday as Zhejiang Professional play hosts to Chengdu Rongcheng at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center with the winner set to put down their marker on third place towards the end of the season.
All attention for these two clubs now falls on getting into third at the end of this campaign with this spot set to secure a place in the AFC Champions League qualifiers.
There is no mathematical possibility of getting into first for either side when you also take into account how the league leaders have won 23 of the 31 games. Either side could get into second, but in truth, it doesn't look as if any side is going to catch Shanding Luneng.
Chendgu are currently sitting fourth in the league and are behind their opposition here by three points. This does also mean a win for them will not be enough to see them through into third with the club also having to deal with a +16 goals difference record on the third-placed side.
Chengdu has also won one game less with 15 compared to the opposition's 16, but with 10 draws and 26 goals conceded compared to their 25, there is barely anything separating the two.

They are the third-highest scorers in the Chinese Super League right now with 56 goals scored from 30 games - only the top two have netted more throughout the course of this season.
Chengdu are also on a fantastic winning run right now that has seen them win the past six games and let in just three goals across all competitions with them also getting a win in the Chinese FA Cup.
In fact, you have to go all the way back to the start of October to see their last loss in all competitions. On the other hand, the form from Zhejiang has been almost as good and there is not much to put against these two sides right now.
