West Brom set for big win against Rotherham
2257

West Bromwich Albion and Rotherham United are locked on 26 points in the Championship table as they prepare to face off at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides find themselves just two points outside the relegation zone, although West Brom have a game in hand on Rotherham.

That said, they are only eight points shy of the top six – meaning they could challenge for promotion if they string a serious of positive results together.

It is no secret that West Brom made a dismal start to the season. Indeed, they only managed to win one of their opening 13 Championship games.

Steve Bruce was sacked on October 10 and replaced by Carlos Corberan on October 25. Since then, they Baggies have turned things around.

Thanks to Monday’s 2-1 victory over Sunderland, West Brom head into Saturday’s clash on a four-game winning streak in the Championship.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Baggies have won five of their previous eight league outings – keeping four clean sheets in the process.

As for Rotherham, they returned from the World Cup break last weekend – suffering a 3-1 home defeat to Bristol City.

That means the Miller have won just one of their previous eight Championship games, suffering five defeats along the way.

Rotherham have been particularly poor on the road this season. In fact, they have only managed to win two of their last 11 away games in all competitions.

If they carry on the way they’re going, the Millers will move closer to the relegation zone and further away from the play-off places.

Head-to-head: West Brom and Rotherham have faced each other five times since 2003. The Baggies have claimed four wins, while the Millers have won just once.

Given that West Brom have scored over 2.5 goals in three of their last four victories over Rotherham, Saturday’s clash is likely to be a high-scoring affair.

Team news: West Brom attacking midfielder Grady Diangana is expected to miss the upcoming clash after missing Monday’s win against Sunderland.

On the flip side, Rotherham will be without the injured Peter Kioso as he continues to recover from an ankle issue.

There is no denying that West Brom are heading in the right direction again, having claimed four Championship wins on the bounce.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that West Brom will secure a big victory over Rotherham – scoring over 2.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet.
