Burnley to Remain Top of the Table By Beating QPR
4126

The Championship leaders are back in action this weekend with the second tier of English football set to return after just under a month off for the World Cup as Burnley head to London to meet with Queens Park Rangers.

This game also sees the meeting of two teams inside the top six after a brilliant start to the season for QPR when not much was expected of them. The Clarets, however, are sitting top of the table with 11 wins from 21 games, losing only two games across the year.

Eight draws does keep them within three points of second-placed Sheffield United, but with them netting 40 goals all season long, no side in the Football League has scored more than them so far this campaign.

Burnley’s decision to get Vincent Kompany in from Anderlecht has clearly worked out when many predicted it would be a complete failure.

Burnley did lose to Sheffield United a few weeks back as their lead was cut to three at the top. However, in beating Lancashire rivals, Blackburn Rovers, at Turf Moor, they put in one of their best displays of the season as Ashley Barnes scored twice in the 3-0 victory.

Kompany's men also managed to beat Rotherham United in November too, while knocking Crawley Town out of the EFL Cup too with a 3-1 win.

As for QPR, they are sitting deep in the losing column right now after failing to win a game in November. The London club drew 0-0 with Norwich City at Carrow road, before losses on home soil to West Brom and Huddersfield.

What's more, they also felt a defeat to mid-table Coventry City and they now sit sixth in the table and are clinging onto their playoff hopes by a thread.

In truth, however, there are not many better ways to put yourself right back into the mixture than by beating the lead leaders, QPR are still 10 points adrift of Burnley, however, and sit one point behind Norwich City in fifth.

As well, the club have won only nine games so far this season and quite incredibly, they sit just one goal ahead of seventh-placed Millwall, as they have let in one goal less.

With the Championship taking a break, many sides have returned to full fitness now and it’s tough to predict where certain squads will be at.

However, Forebet predicts another win for Burnley here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
