The EFL Championship returns this weekend following the World Cup break. On Saturday, Swansea City welcome Norwich City to the Swansea.com Stadium.
With 21 games in the books, the two sides are separated by a solitary point – with eighth-place Swansea sitting just behind fifth-place Norwich.
Both teams will fancy their chances of securing promotion come the end of the season, placing extra importance on Saturday’s clash.
Let’s start by look at the hosts, Swansea, who return from the break on a run of three consecutive draws.
When you look at the bigger picture, the Swans have failed to win any of their last five Championship outings – recording four draws and one loss.
Between early September and late October, Swansea enjoyed a run of seven victories in nine league encounters. But their luck dried up in November.
That said, they have scored at least two goals in each of their previous five home games in the Championship – meaning they shouldn’t struggle to score on Saturday.
As for Norwich, they finished the first phase of the campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough – ending a three-game unbeaten streak in the league.
The Canaries made a flying start to the season, losing just three of their opening 12 Championship outings.
Across their previous nine league games, however, Norwich have registered two wins, two draws and five losses.
Still, only the top two sides – Burnley and Sheffield United – boast a better goal difference than Norwich’s +6.
Head-to-head: Swansea and Norwich haven’t produced a draw since 2013. Across the past seven meetings, the Swans have claimed three wins while the Canaries have claimed four.
Nine of the previous 13 meetings between Swansea and Norwich have dished up over 1.5 goals, so we should see plenty of action this weekend.
Team news: Swansea will be hoping that Joe Allen is available for selection after the key midfielder features for Wales at the World Cup.
Norwich look set to be without the injured quartet of Andrew Omobamidele, Adam Idah, Jon Rowe and Jakob Sorensen for the trip to Wales.
Given that Norwich have lost five of their last nine games – and Swansea have scored at least two goals in each of their previous five home games – the hosts should claim all three points on Saturday.
As a result, Forebet predicts that Swansea will score over 1.5 goals on their way to beating Norwich.
