Crystal Palace set for third straight Premier League win against Nottingham Forest

With the World Cup break just around the corner, Nottingham Forest will be desperate to move off the bottom of the Premier League table when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Tricky Trees are rooted to the foot of the standings – three points from safety – having taken just ten points from a possible 42 this season.

Meanwhile, the Eagles find themselves tenth – nine points clear of Forest and seven points outside the top four – after picking up 19 points.

Forest head into Saturday’s clash on the back of an impressive 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the EFL Cup, thanks to goals from Renan Lodi and Jesse Lingard.

As a result, Steve Cooper’s side have only lost one of their previous five games in all competitions – beating Liverpool at the City Ground last month.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, Forest have managed to win just two of their 14 league games this term.

Given that Forest have the second-worst offensive record and the second-worst defensive record in the division, they are likely to struggle against in-form Palace.

As for the Eagles, they have only lost four of their 13 Premier League outings this season – securing five wins and four draws.

Not only have Patrick Vieira’s men won each of their last two league games, but they have also won four of their previous six.

It is worth noting that only six sides have scored fewer Premier League goals than Palace this season, making them the lowest scorers in the top 12.

On Wednesday, the Eagles played out a goalless draw with in-form Newcastle in the EFL Cup. However, they eventually lost on penalties.

Head-to-head: Forest and Palace last faced each other during the 2012/13 Championship campaign, playing out two draws that season.

The Eagles have only managed to win one of their last nine meetings with Forest in all competitions. That said, a lot has changed since their last meeting.

Team news: Forest will be without the injured quartet of Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone, Harry Toffolo and Omar Richards this weekend. On top of that, Orel Mangala is suspended.

On the flip side, Palace current have three players sidelined through injury – Odsonne Edouard, James McArthur and Christopher Richards.

Although Forest have shown glimpses of improvement in recent weekend, Palace should be too strong for the league’s bottom side.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at the City Ground. However, Crystal Palace are expected to claim all three points.
