Bayern Munich will aim to extend their winning streak to five games in the Bundesliga when they welcome Werder Bremen to the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.

As we head into the penultimate round of fixtures before the World Cup, Bayern sit atop the Bundesliga table – one point clear of second-place Freiburg.

Meanwhile, Werder find themselves seventh – four points outside the top four and seven points behind the Bavarian giants.

Bayern claimed a 3-2 victory at Hertha Berlin on Saturday, racking up 73% possession and 14 shots in the capital.

Jamal Musiala opened the scoring before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting bagged a brace. Although Hertha scored twice before half-time, the Bavarians held on to seal all three points.

Bayern have now won each of their last four Bundesliga games. When you look at the bigger picture, they have won their previous eight outings in all competitions.

The defending champions have scored a whopping 41 goals across their past 11 games in all competitions (3.7 goals per game), netting over 2.5 goals on eight occasions in that time.

As for Werder, they beat Schalke 2-1 at the weekend – thanks to goals from Niclas Fullkrug and Marvin Duscksch.

Not only have Bremen won each of their last two Bundesliga encounters, but they have also won four of their previous six – scoring over 1.5 goals on three occasions during that period.

Better still, Werder have lost just four of their 13 league outings this term and have only conceded over 2.5 goals once.

Given that Bremen were playing in the second tier of German football last season, they can be extremely pleased with their start to the current campaign.

Head-to-head: It is worth noting that Bayern have won 20 of their last 23 Bundesliga meetings with Werder.

Since 2018, Bayern have claimed several high-scoring victories in this fixture – including 4-2, 6-1, and 1-3. Needless to say, that is not good news for Werder.

Team news Bayern will be without the injured duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Bouna Sarr on Tuesday, while Thomas Muller remains a doubt.

On the flip side, Werder will make the trip to Bavaria without Felix Agu and Jean Manuel Mbom, who are both sidelined through injury.

Although Werder have made a strong start to the season, all the signs point towards a comfortable Bayern victory on Tuesday.a

Forebet predicts that Bayern Munich will score over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching Werder Bremen.
