Juventus and Inter set for high-scoring Derby d’Italia showdown
12361

Derby d’Italia rivals Juventus and Inter Milan go head-to-head on Sunday night, with both sides looking to pace with the top-four race in Serie A.

The teams are separated by just two points in the table, with seventh-place Juventus trailing sixth-place Inter. On top of that, both clubs head into Sunday’s clash on winning streaks in the league.

Can Juventus leapfrog Inter with a win on home soil? Or will the Nerazzurri spoil the party in Turin? Let’s take a closer look at the teams.

Juventus come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to PSG on Wednesday. Believe it or not, they lost five of their six UCL games and finished 11 points outside the qualification places.

However, Max Allegri’s side have not let their poor Champions League form impact their domestic performances – losing just two of their 12 Serie A games this term.

Not only have Juventus won each of their last three league games without conceding a goal, but they have also won four of their previous five without conceding.

Having kept seven clean sheets this season, it’s no wonder that Juve boast the best defensive record in Serie A.

As for Inter, they lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich in midweek. Still, they qualified from Group C after winning three of their six Champions League matches.

In Serie A, the Nerazzurri have won eight and lost four of their 12 games this term – meaning they have yet to register a single draw.

Inter have won each of their previous four league outings, scoring 11 goals while keeping two clean sheets.

Given that both teams have scored in each of Inter’s last ten away games in Serie A, we should see plenty of action at both ends on Sunday.

Head-to-head: Inter have only managed to win two of their previous 11 Serie A meetings with Juventus, suffering seven losses in that time.

Juventus have won three of their last four home league games against Inter, scoring over 1.5 goals on two occasions during that period.

Team news: Juventus’ lengthy injury lost contains Moise Kean, Weston McKennie, Dusan Vlahovic, Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba.

On the flip side, Inter will be without the injured trio of Romelu Lukaku, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Marcelo Brozovic this weekend.

Juventus and Inter have both enjoyed a number of wins in Serie A of late, but Juve’s recent Derby d’Italia record gives them the edge.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score over 1.5 goals on Sunday. However, Juventus are expected to come out on top.
