Inter Milan will aim to keep pace with the top-four race in Serie A when they visit the Stadio Artemio Franchi to face Fiorentina on Saturday.
With ten games in the books, Inter find themselves seventh – four points outside the top four and eight points behind first-place Napoli.
As for Fiorentina, they sit thirteenth – five points clear of the relegation zone and eight points shy of Inter. Can they spring a surprise on home soil this weekend?
Fiorentina have only managed to win two of their ten Serie A games this season, registering four draws and four losses.
With a win ratio of just 20% this term, only the bottom five sides have claimed fewer victories than Fiorentina in 2022/23.
It is also worth noting that Fiorentina are among the league’s lowest scorers this season. In fact, only last-place Sampdoria have netted fewer goals than Fiorentina’s eight.
That said, Fiorentina have lost just three of their past 21 home league games – meaning they will be confident of frustrating Inter.
As for Inter, they have yet to pick up a draw in Serie A this season – recording six wins and four defeats in their opening ten clashes.
It is worth pointing out, however, that Simone Inzaghi’s men head into Saturday’s clash on the back of two straight victories over Sassuolo (1-2) and Salernitana (2-0).
When you look at the bigger picture, Inter Milan have lost just eight of their previous 48 encounters in Serie A.
They have also managed to score at least one goal in each of their last 22 league outings, so they will fancy their chances of hitting the target on Saturday.
Head-to-head: Inter have avoided defeat in each of their previous ten league meetings with Fiorentina, picking up five wins and five draws.
Given that nine of the past 14 Serie A meetings between Fiorentina and Inter have produced over 2.5 goals, we should see plenty of action this time around.
Team news: Fiorentina will be without the injured quartet of Gaetano Castrovilli, Riccardo Sottil, Youssef Maleh and Luca Ranieri on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Inter have five injury absentees at the moment: Dalbert, Romelu Lukaku, Marcelo Brozovic, Roberto Gagliardini and Gabriel Brazao.
When you couple Fiorentina’s poor current form with Inter’s strong recent record in this fixture, all the signs point towards an away win.
With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Inter Milan will score over 1.5 goals on their way to beating Fiorentina.
