Palace Could Send Wolves Back Into the Bottom 3 With a Win
6891

Crystal Palace will welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Selhurst Park on Tuesday evening with the two separated by just one point in the Premier League as the Midlands outfit remain without a manager and will head into this game having picked up one point on the road so far.

It’s been the worst start to a Premier League season for Wolves ever since returning to the division back in 2018.

As of now, they have played a game more than Crystal Palace, which could force a four-point gap on the Eagles if they lose here.

Worse yet, the club are hovering above the relegation zone by just one point after winning only two of their 10 games in 2022/23.

After the sacking of Bruno Lage a few weeks ago, Wolves are still without a head coach but they did bounce back with a narrow 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest to rocket them out of the relegation zone, which has eased the fears of a potential battle in the bottom three slightly.

Nevertheless, no side in the league has scored fewer goals than them this season with a shocking four of their own.

What’s more, considering Ruben Neves got the winner from the spot against Palace last time out, it now means only three goals have come for Wolves from open play, as the Portuguese midfielder got his second of the season after a thunderbolt against Newcastle United a few weeks back.

The Midlands side have also let in 12 goals so far this campaign, which although still very commendable as it is three less than fifth-placed Manchester United, it is still worrying given their lack of goals at the other end.

Moreover, the goal against Forest was the first in three games for Wolves, having lost without scoring against Chelsea, Manchester City and West Ham United.

As for Palace, they are in ninth and with the chance to move up into the top half of the table with a win if other results go their way.

What's more, they also have a game in hand over many sides above them and they are on a two-game unbeaten run after a recent 0-0 draw with Leicester City and a 2-1 win over Leeds United.

Odsonne Edouard scored that day, as did Eberechi Eze, and combined with Wilfried Zaha's solid run of goalscoring form this season, the forward players of Palace can be pleased with their start to the season so far.

Forebet predicts a win for Palace and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
