Milan and Juventus set for high-scoring Serie A thriller
4003

We have a blockbuster Serie A showdown to sink our teeth into on Saturday, as defending champions AC Milan welcome Juventus to the San Siro.

The two giants are separated by four points in the Serie A table, with fifth-place Milan leading seventh-place Juventus.

With Napoli and Atalanta leading the early scudetto race, Milan and Juventus will both be desperate to claim all three points on Sunday.

Milan have lost just one of their eight Serie A games this season, picking up five wins and two draws along the way.

It is also worth noting that Milan have won three of their previous four league outings, seeing off Inter (3-2), Sampdoria (2-1) and Empoli (3-1) in the process.

When you look at the bigger picture, the reigning champions have only lost one of their past 20 Serie A encounters.

Given that each of Milan’s previous four league clashes have produced over 2.5 goals, we should see plenty of action at the San Siro on Saturday.

Milan head into this game on the back of a heavy defeat, having suffered a 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Like Milan, Juventus have lost just one of their eight league games this term. However, they have claimed three wins and four draws.

Having conceded only five goals in eight Serie A matches, Juve boast the joint second-best defensive record in Italy’s top flight.

It is worth pointing out, however, that Juventus have managed to win just one of their previous six away games in Serie A.

Juventus claimed a relatively easy 3-1 victory over Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Adrien Rabiot netting a double.

Head-to-head: Milan and Juventus played out two draws in Serie A last term, drawing 1-1 in Turin before dishing up a goalless draw in Milan.

Across the past six league meetings between these two sides, there have been two Milan wins, two Juventus wins and two draws.

Team news: Milan could be without as many as eight first-team players this weekend, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Divock Origi.

Juventus have a lengthy injury list, too, with Federico Chiesa, Kaio Jorge and Paul Pogba expected to miss Saturday’s showdown.

Given that both Milan and Juventus have started the season in unpredictable form, Saturday’s showdown is destined to be a wild game with plenty of goals.

Forebet predicts that Milan and Juventus will produce a high-scoring draw, dishing up over 3.5 goals between them.
