A Thrilling Game Expected Between 3rd and 2nd as Porto Meet Braga
4779

It’s one of the biggest games across Europe this weekend as two of Portugal’s best meet with third-placed champions Porto meeting with Sporting Braga in second at the Estádio do Dragão.

This season hasn't gone as swimmingly as initially hoped for for Porto, as they now sit third in the table and with the same amount of losses (1) as they registered throughout the entirety of their title-winning campaign in Primeira Liga last season.

Porto are also coming into this one off the back of two dismal results. First up was the 4-0 loss on home soil to Club Brugge where Porto registered just two shots on target and were battered by the Belgian giants all game long.

Estoril Praia then drew 1-1 with them in the league shortly after, which does now also mean they are five points adrift of league leaders Benfica.

The champions are, however, still boasting of one of the best defensive records in the league with just five goals let in from seven games. What's more, they have also scored 16 goals and now come into this game as the third-highest scorers in the Primeira Liga.

Porto's last victory came in a 3-0 win against Chaves where they beat the club quite comfortably on home so in Prior to this, they also beat Gil Vicente 2-0, so in reality, they have only let in one goal from their past three league games and scored six of their own.

As for Braga, it’s been a sensational start to the season for them and they have begun this campaign as well as they have done for any of the past four.

As of now, they sit three points behind the unbeaten Benfica, and although Braga remain unbeaten too, their one draw does keep them adrift of top spot. On the other hand, they have scored a stunning 23 goals in the league already, which no other side gets close to.

Braga's only draw actually came on the opening day of the campaign against Sporting Lisbon, which now means a eight-game winning run after also beating Union Berlin in the Europa League.

Although Porto have dominated this fixture down the years, this campaign feels very different and Braga’s high-scoring nature this season is going to keep them right in the title race for now.

Forebet predicts a win for Braga here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals in what could be a thrilling encounter.
